JMO IN MAJOR NEW DRAMA!

Hi funsters

I’m beyond excited to announce that I’ve been cast as one of the female leads in Nine’s “House Husbands”, a new drama from Playmaker media.

Here’s the skinny from the press release lv jxx

NINE NETWORK ANNOUNCES CAST FOR HOUSE HUSBANDS

The Nine Network and Playmaker Media today announced the cast for the upcoming television drama, House Husbands.

Leading the cast on the new 10-part series are Gary Sweet (Rescue Special Ops) as Lewis, Rhys Muldoon (Lockie Leonard) as Mark, Gyton Grantley (Underbelly) as Kane, Firass Dirani (Underbelly: Golden Mile) as Justin, Julia Morris (Celebrity Apprentice) as Gemma, Anna McGahan (Underbelly: Razor) as Lucy and Natalie Saleeba (Winners and Losers) as Abi. Other cast members are still to be announced.

Warm, funny and entertaining, House Husbands gives a real perspective on the way we live today from four modern families with one thing in common: the men are in charge of raising the kids.

“House Husbands is a fresh and dynamic look at Australian family life with a very modern twist,” says Michael Healy, Nine’s Director of Television.

“Audiences will fall in love with our characters as they deal with the challenges of raising families in today’s hectic world.”

House Husbands was created by Ellie Beaumont and Drew Proffitt and will be produced by Sue Seeary (Slide) and Drew Proffitt (Lockie Leonard).

The series will be directed by Geoff Bennett (The Great Mint Swindle) and Shirley Barrett (Wild Boys, Offspring), with Nine’s Jo Rooney and Andy Ryan plus Playmaker’s David Maher and David Taylor as executive producers.

“The timing feels right for a funny and honest Aussie drama that lifts the lid on what stay-at-home dads actually get up to. We are thrilled to be producing this series for Nine,” says Playmaker’s David Maher.

Production commences in Melbourne at the end of the month.

Help me raise $$$$$ for Ben!

A couple of months ago a lovely woman got in contact with me to help with a fundraiser for her autistic son Ben. The family’s story really touched me. So often I work for big charities but this is just one family struggling.

Ben was diagnosed in March 2010, he was aged 28 months. 8 weeks later he started Intensive Early Intervention ABA Therapy. The family very quickly used the limit of their savings, federal funding, Superannuation and borrowed money from the Bank. Ben is deemed ineligible for any NSW Government services and was rejected by Government funded ABI programs. The next step was to sell their home, or stop therapy.

It broke my heart. So I begged some comedy mates to come and help me put on a fantastic comedy spectacular.

On Wednesday May 2nd, in a room kindly donated by the Cronulla Sharks Leagues Club, we will bring laughs to aid a very special Shire boy who is in need of our help.

LOVE BEN, THE COMEDY SPECTACULAR includes stand-up stars GARY ECK, TOMMY DEAN, ANTHONY ACKROYD, MIKEY ROBBINS & ME, OLD LADY JMO… plus there will be awesome raffle prizes to be won. Tickets are $50 each and you can book them via http://www.loveben.org/ or call Kerry on 0421 63 5590.

Please come and support us on this magical comedy night. What a line up.

HIRED!

Hey Gang,

I am really over the moon about winning the Celebrity Apprentice and hugely touched by all your messages of support and love during the past few weeks. It was one of the most fun, exhausting, rewarding, confronting, insane and profoundly positive life-changing experiences I have ever had.

I dedicate this win to my childhood friend, the glorious Sarah Kong, who lost her battle with breast cancer earlier this year. I know Sarah would have laughed non-stop at the ongoing silliness on the show and been blown away by the amount of money Mr Bouris and the rest of the cast helped me raise.

Over $160,000 has been handed over to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, who will use the money for research to help rid the planet of this disgusting disease that is stealing the lives of our friends and family.

Loads of love
